Secondary School Mathematics Olympiad (OMIKA)

This Mathematics Olympiad is one manifestation in supporting national education goals which is based on Indonesian National Constitution 1945, namely to improve intelligence and skills, to build character and attitude, to develop personality, and to strengthen national patriotism so that the Indonesian national education can produce qualified people who can establish themselves and are jointly responsible for the development of the nation, physically and mentally.

The Implementation of this Omika began with the elimination session on Sunday, October 20, 2013 followed by the semifinal and final sessions on October 27, 2013 at the University of Kanjuruhan Malang. The Omika was followed by 80 high school students and 62 junior high school students.

The Junior High School category or equivalent all over East Java was divided into three sessions. The qualification session was done in each area (rayon) and only about 10% of the participants in each area (rayon) were selected. The semifinal session was done using multiple choice questions and selected only 8 participants both from the junior high school category and the senior high school category to proceed to the final session. The final session was conducted using a model racing agile and presentation in order to obtain the champion 1, 2, and 3.

For the junior high school category/equivalent, the first winner was Alfin Adam Arifin from SMPN 1 Turen, the second champion was Falihah Balamah from MTsN 1 Malang, and the third champion was Farhan Triofani from MTsN 1 Tungganri. For the high schoolcategory/level, the first winner was Moh. Ali Rido from SMAN 1 Pamekasan,  Widy Fachrizal from SMAN 3 Pamekasan got the second prize, and the third prize was won by Sandra Roy Surya from SMAN 1 Pamekasan (ula & fandi).
